My 5 Favorite Keycap Sets of 2025
Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by! I’m truly blessed to be able to take a look at tons of incredible keycap designs throughout the year. It’s definitely really hard to narrow them down but these were the 5 that made a lasting impression and that have been in my rotation since receiving them.
Let’s dive in and take a look at my favorites.
Honorable Mention- MW Eyeball Collector
Designer: York Chan
I’ve been seriously impressed with this one. The sparkles in the ABS paired with those super fun, slightly alien-looking UV novelties make it an instant showstopper.
The sound signature is unique too. It’s different from most ABS double-shot or PBT sets I’ve used. It has a noticeably poppier, more lively tone that really stands out.
I love seeing designers push the envelope with textures and material choices like this.
Number 5- MW Fyrefly
Designer: keepoto
This set is inspired by Firefly, one of my favorite characters from Honkai: Star Rail and it absolutely does her justice. I actually designed a set inspired by her too, but I’ll happily admit keepoto took the theme and executed it on another level. Great work!
The character detail in the novelties is incredible, and the colors are spot on. I’m especially a fan of the gradient, it ties everything together so well. Switching things up with PBT keycaps has also been a really nice change of pace.
It’s easily one of my favorite sets right now, especially paired with my Matrix Corsa. Honestly, it’s a perfect match.
Number 4- PBS Aperture Priority
Designer: Akuko Labs
As a photographer, this one was kind of a no-brainer for me. I was honestly hesitant to try the PBS profile at first, but this set finally convinced me to give it a shot. Timothy made so many smart design choices, it genuinely feels like a love letter to the art of photography. Using it almost makes me want to grab my camera instead of sit down and type.
The profile itself is really interesting. It’s uniform with a subtle scooped feel on most of the keys. The bottom row is convex, so they almost feel like little bubbles under your fingers.
This is definitely a set I’ll keep coming back to, not just for the design, but for how fun and unique the typing experience is too.
Number 3- Keykobo Great Barrier Reef
Designer: Brain Aha!
The color on this set is unreal. Brain Aha! has seriously been on a roll lately, easily one of my favorite designers right now. The novelties bring so much to the theme, and I love how the UV elements add texture and depth to the design. Have you seen that transparent detail on the ESC novelty? Absolutely stunning.
I paired it with my Cosmo Bauer Lite and the combo is just chef’s kiss.
Number 2- Keykobo Komodo
Designer: Brain Aha!
Brain Aha! is back again with my second favorite set of the year. The earthy palette with those pops of blue and orange make it such a standout in my collection. The novelties are addictive, and I love how the UV print layered with double-shot creates effects like the eyeballs and the snake on the branch. It adds so much personality.
The earth-toned base makes it super versatile, while the brighter accents keep drawing me back in. I originally paired it with the Adamas to complement the blue case, but after getting that wild green finish on my Neson NoryTek 70, I had to try it there. It’s giving reptile vibes, maybe even Komodo lol. I might swap it back though, there’s something about it on the Adamas that just hits different.
Number 1- GMK CYL ABSTRACT
Designer: Oh.Type
The cream base of Abstract is the perfect canvas for the mix of bold and pastel colors and playful shapes. I love how creative Oratio got with this one, especially making each sub-legends feel distinct and intentional.
It’s incredibly versatile and looks amazing on so many different board colors. Honestly, this set feels more like a piece of art than just keycaps. The longer you stare at it, the more little details you start to notice. It’s easily become a staple in my collection. Speaking of staples, I recently paired it with the Champagne Kohaku and I think I’m in love.
Thank you guys so much for reading along and taking a look at some of my favorite sets of the past year. I’m honored to be able to check out so many incredible designs each year and I can’t wait to see what designers cook up in 2026. Stay tuned for new monthly blogs as well. This is something I really want to spend more time creating for you guys!
